The Foundation For Agentic Networks
The Foundation for Agentic Networks is a nonprofit organization established to support, steward, and advance the development of the Agentic Web—an open ecosystem where autonomous digital agents can safely interact, collaborate, and transact across platforms. As a neutral, mission-driven foundation, its role is not to build proprietary products but to nurture shared standards, open protocols, research, and global community participation that enable the ecosystem to grow sustainably. By bringing together industry leaders, researchers, developers, and local communities, the foundation provides governance, coordination, and resources to ensure the Agentic Web evolves as a decentralized, interoperable public good.
Project Chapters are community-led local groups that help grow adoption, expertise, and engagement around the Open Agentic Web and the Project protocol. Pioneer chapters are already active in Boston, New York, the Bay Area, Seattle, Mumbai, Bengaluru, London, Dubai, and several university campuses, with more forming worldwide. These semi-autonomous chapters follow a shared onboarding framework provided by Project NANDA while maintaining the independence to host events, build communities, and explore initiatives that reflect local interests. Starting a chapter requires a commitment of about one hour per week, including a monthly core meetup (in-person or virtual) and occasional collaboration or committee work between meetings. To launch a chapter, prospective leaders can fill out the chapter interest form, after which a Chapter Coordinator will reach out with next steps.
